School Opinion Survey
The suite of School Opinion Surveys is undertaken each year by the Department of Education to obtain opinions about your child's school from families, school staff and students in target year levels (5, 6, 8 and 11). The surveys will help identify what we are doing well, and understand where we can improve. The survey invitation will be emailed in the week beginning 15 July and is titled School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2024.
Each school family will receive one email invitation from the Department of Education to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey. The survey is anonymous. Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to complete the survey. The survey can be completed via computers, tablets or smart phones with an internet connection. For Parents/Caregivers who do not have access to the internet school computers/tablets will be available. Parents/caregivers who experience difficulties accessing the survey can request a new survey from the School Opinion Survey team via email schoolopinionsurvey@qed.qld.gov.au

National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Acknowledgement
This special event occurred on Friday (12/07), including at school assembly, with all students involved in NAIDOC inspired activities throughout the day. Thank you to Sheree Carter for leading the event organisation. We commit to deepening understanding and appreciation of Indigenous Perspectives in our everyday work.
School community members are always welcome to join us at our weekly school assembly occurring every Friday during the school term from 9.15am in the school hall.
Creative Generation—State Schools Onstage
Creative Generation—State Schools Onstage (CGEN) continues to give students, teachers and school communities the opportunity to be involved in a professionally produced, award-winning arena spectacular. Since its inception in 2005, the large-scale event has grown from a cast of 550 students to now more than 1,800 and is nationally renowned for its outstanding and vibrant display of state school talent.
Our amazing Caboolture Special School CGEN team will be representing our school community at the event in Brisbane throughout next week. Thanks to all concerned for your investment of time with the event organisation.
Parent/carer student pick up
A reminder that is essential that authorised persons picking up students from school make direct contact with the relevant school staff member before escorting their student out of the school grounds. For early student pick ups, authorised persons must call into the school office for an early departure slip prior to student pick up.
Teacher Planning Sessions/Pre Moderation Work
It’s been fantastic to see our educators coming together in these sessions, facilitated by our Head of Curriculum Katie Rogers. Thank you to all invested parties.
Logan City Special School visitors
Our colleagues from Logan paid us a visit on 11 July to connect with fellow educators and learn more of our approaches. Such partnership work is mutually beneficial and we will continue to invest in such endeavours.
Metropolitan North Region (MNR) Special School Principal Network
Our school has had the privilege of being invited to host the MNR Special School Principal Network Meeting on 7 August. Regional Director Gary Austen and School Supervisor Ric Day will be in attendance, along with Special School Principals and Special School administrative support staff from across the Region.
Sports Carnival – Date Claimer
16 August.
Open Day – Guidance Officers (GOs) and Heads of Special Education Services (HOSES)
We welcome local GOs and HOSES to our school for an open day session on 18 July.
Thank you for your ongoing support and for choosing Caboolture Special School for the education of your child.
Best wishes

NAIDOC celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
Today Caboolture Special School celebrated NAIDOC day. A wonderful day was had by all.
Gubbi Gubbi Elder Uncle Brad once again came to present the Welcome to Country at assembly and further supported our students’ engagement in NAIDOC with a smoking ceremony, plaster rock dot painting, and wooden plaques for all our students to enjoy.
We also had the pleasure of having Lee Street State Special School staff and student leaders helping us with some Indigenous games on the oval during this time which was wonderful.
We value these rich experiences here at Caboolture Special School and we hope to continue our meaningful connections with other schools and community members that enhance our students’ knowledge, understanding and appreciation for First Nations cultures and histories.
